Illustration

While I am competent at conventional and technical illustration, my specialty is 3D illustration. About 20-40% of the time, a client will want to do something that makes their content more interesting or fun. Along those lines, I've designed "coach characters", "mascots", and "adventure games". Other times, a client may want to develop something like a 3D rendering of a sample call center for new hires or a step by step instruction of how to re-brick the inside of an EBA furnace. Quality illustration, used in sales presentations, can even help to win over new clients. This kind of illustration can grab a client's attention and differentiate a proposal, while establishing in their mind a high-end capability.

Interface Design & Content Images

For the last five years, I've been involved in producing interface designs and content images for a variety of clients. Almost all of these projects are intranet training courses, which means that I can't provide direct links. Confidential information has been converted to "greek" text to protect the client's interests. This site itself is a sample, a clean looking design for the purpose of presenting my work.

Interactives and Animations

Macromedia Flash has opened doors for interesting web-ready interactions and animations. The file size of ".swf" movies are generally small, and a large percentage of the web-surfing audience has a recent flash player. I've done a lot of work where I combine custom 3D rendering and Flash. The pieces often have more depth than a typical flash file, yet still have very manageable file sizes.

Print Design

Sometimes, an artist works exclusively in electronic media, or exclusively in print media. Experience in both areas has been a huge benefit when I'm asked to produce posters, brochures, screen printed items (coffee cups, T-Shirts, mouse pads, CDs, etc.) and more. Providing a piece of art or design for a print shop is very different than getting an image ready for a web site. Huge file sizes, different color modes, trapping, registration and even communicating with the print vendor are all part of the job.
